Here is the black and white pencil of the elf face study. I believe I did it sometime in 2004 or 2005, but I can’t be sure. It ended up not really looking much like the photo reference used, but I was referencing the lighting on the face more than anything.
This is JUST lovely.
Brina, do you get many comments? It is SO difficult to get into your blog. A person has to set up a user name with a password. I tried coming in here with the one I had set up and they said it wasn’t working. So I had to start all over again!!
I started out with WordPress when WiDo signed the contract with me because I didn’t know anything yet. I could barely work it, and I wasn’t getting anyone into my blog. BLOGGER, on the other hand, is totally user friendly and everything communicates with each other so easily.
For your info, for whatever it’s worth. Again, your drawings are stunning.
Thank you so much. It’s nice to hear when someone likes my work.
I’m sorry you had trouble getting into my blog. I haven’t had much trouble with WordPress as of yet, and I like many aspects of it, but thank you for the info, I’ll be sure to keep it in mind.
Thanks again for the comment.
Dear Brina
when I found your elf on the net, it was as if I was looking at my inner self: such a recognition!!!!!!! Lots of people have since asked me if it was a picture of me, which means there must be some truth in my feeling…
I have one important question: can I use it with some alterations for a personal tattoo??? It would mean a lot to me, on a therapeutical way too
love Chrisje
It’s nice to hear you liked my work, and that it personally spoke to you.
Seeing as the tattoo you had in mind would only be a personal one, with alterations, meaning you would be taking inspiration from my work, more than anything else; and since it would not be for any kind of commercial gain, I’m happy to give permission for its use in this instance.
Good luck, and I hope everything turns out well for you. =)
